I obtained my Washington State - Social Worker Independent Clinical License in 2011. My license number is LW 60193264. I am governed by the WA state Department of Health. I am also a WA state approved supervisor, a mental health professional, and an Asian and Pacific Islander ethnic minority mental health specialist. I worked in various non-profit settings from 2007-2017 providing intake assessment, individual and group therapy, case management, and crisis intervention. I started my private practice in 2014. I have extensive training and experiences in diagnosing and treating a variety of mood disorders using evidence based approaches. I enjoy and have expertise working with clients of different ages (mostly adults and geriatrics), genders, sexual orientations, cultures, and socioeconomic status.
In 2007, I received my master's degree in social work from the University of Washington. In 2005, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education - Family and Human Services at University of Oregon with two honors. Prior to that, I received my education in Hong Kong.
My professional interests are compassion cultivation, empowerment, healing from trauma, mindfulness, multiculturalism, and self-identity. I utilize a number of therapeutic approaches and techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Humanistic and Existential psychology, Mindfulness, Lifespan Integration, and Positive Psychology.
I particularly enjoy working with clients who experienced trauma in the past and helping them heal. I also enjoy working with clients from a diverse backgrounds in the category of gender, social economic status, and ethnicity etc, and the unique challenges they face.
