I obtained my Social Worker Independent Clinical License in 2011. I am an ethnic minority specialist for the Asian and Pacific Islander population, which allows me to provide consultation to other mental health counselors who have clients of that cultural background. I am also a mental health professional and can give a mental health diagnosis, and provide non-medical treatment for people with or without a diagnosis.
In 2007, I received my master's degree in social work from the University of Washington. In 2005, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education - Family and Human Services at University of Oregon with two honors. Prior to that, I received my education in Hong Kong.
I have been providing individual and group counseling services since 2007. I have worked with clients from different cultural and economic backgrounds who suffered from depression, anxiety, and the aftermath of trauma. My professional interests are mindfulness, multiculturalism, healing from past sexual trauma, and empowerment from within. I utilize mindfulness, thought field therapy, “the work” by Byron Katie, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other therapy theories in my sessions with clients.
